Delete your PharmHops (HopMeds) account
This page is for people who have a HopMeds staff account, which is the account you sign in with on the PharmHops app from Google Play and on the HopMeds web app. Both are run by Hopmeds Health Tech Pvt. Ltd. If you are a patient of a pharmacy or clinic that uses HopMeds, that pharmacy holds your record, so ask them first, or write to us at: info@hopmeds.com
Confirm the deletion
You opened the link from our email. Press the button to confirm. Your account will be deleted 14 days from now, and until then you can cancel by signing in and opening Settings.
Request deletion
Enter the email address you use to sign in. We will send a confirmation link to that address.
Already signed in on the app? You can also delete your account there: Settings → Compliance → Delete my account.
What happens next
- If a verified account uses the address you entered, we email it. If nothing arrives within 10 minutes, sign in and use Settings → Compliance → Delete my account instead, or write to info@hopmeds.com from that address.
- You open the link in that email and confirm. The link works once and expires after 24 hours.
- We wait 14 days. During that time you can cancel by signing in to HopMeds and opening Settings.
- After 14 days we carry out the deletion. You will no longer be able to sign in.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in sessions, password, PIN and any pending sign-in or verification links.
- The details kept in the activity log for actions you took, such as the contents of forms you submitted. The log keeps only which action happened, when, and technical details such as a hashed network address and your app or browser version.
- Error reports sent from your account.
- If you applied for your pharmacy's HopMeds account, the licence document you uploaded, unless the application must be held for a legal reason.
What is replaced with a code
Your name, email address and phone number — on your account and, unless it must be held for a legal reason, on the application your account was approved from — are replaced with a random code. Most records you created, such as bills, stay linked to that code, so they still show that a member of staff acted, without saying who. The exceptions are listed below.
What we cannot delete
These records belong to the pharmacy or clinic, and some must be kept for as long as Nepali tax and drug-control law requires. Deleting your account does not delete them:
- Bills, invoices and payments (tax and VAT records).
- The controlled-medicine register.
- Accounting entries and supplier bills.
- Patient records the pharmacy entered. A patient who wants a record changed should ask the pharmacy that keeps it.
Most of these stay linked to a code instead of your name. Some legal and audit records, however, keep their own copy of your email address, and deleting your account does not change it. These include the controlled-medicine register, medicine disposal records, accounting entries, records of printed bill copies, changes to stock batches, and records of connections with distributors. Changes to stock batches also keep your name, and distributor records keep your phone number. The pharmacy's own contact details in its profile - which may be yours if you set up the account - belong to the pharmacy and are not changed; ask an administrator to update them.
Details removed by a deletion can remain in our database backups until those copies are replaced or deleted. We use backups only to restore the service.
If you are your pharmacy's only administrator
We cannot delete your account on its own, because nobody else could then reach your pharmacy's records. Make another member of staff an administrator first, or, to close the whole pharmacy account, write to us at: info@hopmeds.com
Applied for an account that was never approved? Write to us and we will remove the application: info@hopmeds.com
