Doctors & clinics

Clinic and pharmacy software for Nepal, with doctors and e-prescriptions

Keep patient records and prescriptions at the counter, and let the doctors you work with send e-prescriptions to your queue from their own phones. Made for medical shops and for a clinic with a pharmacy or dispensary attached; doctor sessions happen in person at your shop.

Patient records that build up from your bills

Each bill you finalize for a named patient records a visit, so their record shows past visits and what they bought without anyone having to remember.

A clinic can also record an OPD, follow-up or emergency visit with the complaint and diagnosis. Those visits feed the HMIS-style monthly OPD summary you download as Excel or CSV for your own filing.

  • Patient records on every plan, with no cap on patients
  • Find a patient by name, phone or patient number
  • Staff screens in Nepali or English, with BS or AD dates

Prescriptions filed at the counter, paper or electronic

Photograph a paper prescription and HopMeds reads the doctor’s name, NMC number and medicines where it can, for you to confirm or correct before saving; handwriting it cannot read is left blank, never guessed.

E-prescriptions from paired doctors land in the same register, giving you one dispensing history to show an inspector. Controlled medicines still need a verified prescriber and prescription reference at sale.

  • Prescription register from the Plus plan
  • Photo pre-fill is confirm-and-correct, never saved unseen
  • A prescriber list with NMC numbers

Pair a doctor’s phone with a 6-digit code

Doctors do not need a HopMeds account. Your staff check the doctor’s NMC number on the public NMC register, record the result and issue a 6-digit pairing code. The doctor enters it on the HopMeds doctor page in their phone browser, and that phone is paired.

From their own portal, which is in English, a paired doctor can check whether a medicine is in stock before writing it, save templates for the prescriptions they write most, and see their session schedule and waiting list.

  • Plus: up to 10 paired doctor devices. Pro: no limit. Basic: no pairing
  • Each code works once and expires after 10 minutes
  • A doctor’s phone is not paired until someone has checked them

E-prescriptions that reach your counter

The doctor writes the prescription on their phone and sends it to the pharmacy the patient chooses, or hands over a paper copy. If the patient picks your shop, it lands in your Incoming list with a pickup code. Staff find it by the code, see the doctor, the NMC number and each medicine matched against your stock with the first-expiring batch, then accept it and bill the medicines like any sale.

The e-prescription is filed with your paper ones, so there is one register to show an inspector, and the doctor sees on their own phone whether it was collected.

  • Staff find the prescription by the code the patient reads out
  • Each medicine is matched against your stock before you accept
  • No referral fees, commissions or per-prescription payments

Doctor sessions at your shop, with token numbers

If a doctor sits at your shop, whether every week or for a single clinic day, schedule a session with its time, room and how many patients it can take. Staff book a token for each patient and mark them arrived and seen; the list shows how many seats are left.

The doctor sees the same waiting list on their phone. Sessions are in person; there is no video consultation.

  • Doctor sessions from the Plus plan
  • Token numbers with booked, arrived and seen status
  • Only doctors you have verified can be scheduled

Refill Club and Request a Doctor, on Pro

Enrol patients on long-term medicines, such as for blood pressure or diabetes, against a prescription in your register and a verified doctor. Each refill handed over gets a run-out date worked out from the dose and quantity, and HopMeds lists who is running out so staff can call them; it sends nothing to patients itself. Once the doctor’s review date has passed, the next refill is held until a review is recorded.

When a patient at the counter needs a doctor, staff raise a request with the complaint in the patient’s own words, their age group and their consent. It goes to verified doctors in your municipality or district who have marked themselves free; the first to accept receives the patient’s phone number, and you see the doctor’s name, NMC number, location and how soon they can see the patient. It is a handoff, not a consultation inside HopMeds, and not an emergency service: danger signs such as chest pain make you confirm you have advised hospital care first.

  • Refill Club: run-out dates and a list of who is running out
  • Request a Doctor connects you to a nearby verified doctor; no video or online consultation
  • Pro: Rs 2,499 per month or Rs 24,999 per year

What HopMeds does not claim: Doctor sessions are in person at your shop and Request a Doctor only connects the patient with a nearby doctor; there is no teleconsultation, video or online consultation. HopMeds has no referral fees, commissions or doctor payouts of any kind. NMC verification is a manual check of the public NMC register that your staff record, not an automatic lookup. The doctor’s page is in English only. HopMeds is not an EMR or hospital system: no OPD appointment scheduling beyond doctor sessions, no lab system, and no SMS to patients.

Questions about doctors and clinics

Do doctors need a HopMeds account?

No. Once the doctor is checked on the public NMC register, your staff issue a 6-digit pairing code that the doctor enters once in their phone browser. Plus includes 10 paired doctor devices, Pro has no limit, and Basic has no doctor pairing.

How does an e-prescription reach my counter?

The doctor writes it in their HopMeds portal and sends it to the pharmacy the patient chooses. At your shop it appears in the Incoming list with a pickup code; staff find it by the code, see each medicine matched against your stock, accept it and bill the medicines like any sale. The prescription is filed in the same register as your paper ones.

Is this telemedicine or video consultation?

No. There is no teleconsultation, video or online consultation. Doctor sessions happen at your shop with token numbers, and Request a Doctor only connects the patient with a nearby verified doctor who is free now; HopMeds provides no consultation channel of its own.

Do doctors get paid for sending patients or prescriptions to my pharmacy?

No. HopMeds has no referral fees, commissions or doctor payouts of any kind, and the software has no way to set one up. An incoming e-prescription only shows you which doctor wrote it.

Does HopMeds verify doctors with the NMC automatically?

No. Someone at your pharmacy checks the doctor on the public NMC register and records the result in HopMeds, which stores who checked and when. Only verified doctors can be paired or given a session.

Is HopMeds clinic management software or an EMR?

It is pharmacy software for a clinic with a pharmacy or dispensary attached, or a polyclinic with a medical shop: patient records, visits, prescriptions, doctor sessions, and dispensary billing and stock. If you are comparing clinic management software in Nepal, note what it is not: an EMR or hospital system. There is no OPD appointment scheduling beyond doctor sessions, no ward management and no lab system.

Which plan do I need for working with doctors?

Basic, at Rs 999 per month, covers patient records and billing but not doctor pairing. Plus, at Rs 1,499 per month, adds the prescription register, doctor sessions and up to 10 paired doctor devices. Pro, at Rs 2,499 per month, adds unlimited doctor devices, the Refill Club and Request a Doctor. Yearly plans are Rs 9,999, Rs 14,999 and Rs 24,999, about ten months at the monthly rate.
